Randolph Bleiwas, LCSW, MA, CASAC, CBIS, CHt, known as Randy to staff and clients, is Executive Director of Beacon Place. He has a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University and a Masters in Psychology from Yeshiva University. He is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a New York State Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, Certified in Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy and is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.
Joan P. Higgins, MA, is a Psychologist/Applied Behavior Sciences Specialist. She has 20 years of progressive experience in Supportive Counseling, Habilitation Programming Analysis, Quality Assurance, Psychometric Testing, and developing and implementing positive behavior support plans.
“I have a Master’s degree in Psychology and have experience providing services to people with neurobiological disorders. I am not only a TBI services provider (behavioral health related services), I am also a TBI survivor.”
Ryan Walker recently graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation and a Non-Profit Management minor. Additionally, Ryan passed his National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification examination and completed his internship with us and is staying on as a Recreational Therapist. Ryan is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). Ryan is highly motivated, personable, and eager to engage participants. He has demonstrated an exceptional ability to handle difficult situations and adapt accordingly. These characteristics are the cornerstone of his success, and he is a valuable asset here at Beacon Place, LLC.
We are thrilled to announce the addition of Keondra Epps to our center in the position of Service Coordinator! She brings to Beacon Place strong interpersonal skills and is both highly motivated and extremely knowledgeable about the TBI & NHTD Waiver Systems. Additionally, Keondra is eager to showcase her significant experience and ability to act as a gateway to resources for participants. In addition to Service Coordination, Keondra also helps with the Structured Day Program.
Ryan DiChiara, CTRS, is our Recreational Consultant. He has a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from SUNY-Cortland, and will develop and implement our person centered activity plans.
“I have a background in recreation and leisure education, skills building, activity modification and accessibility. I have experience with the development of outcome based goals in regard to social, emotional and physical aspect of recreation and leisure. I am a devoted recreation therapist that creates person centered plans through the use of numerous small group activities. I plan to sit for the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification exam in May 2016.”
