March 2019 Message from the Executive Director

March is Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Month. TBI has been called "the silent epidemic". Many people have been affected by brain injuries and strokes. Some have not yet been identified or treated and therefore don't know or understand their condition. This leads to a number of people not being treated and remaining stuck.

Beacon Place provides TBI and other services but is also dedicated to providing information and education about Traumatic Brain Injury and treatment. We have provided education to other agencies, organizations, conferences, community groups and spoken at the VA's locally. We are able to speak to organizations and groups in addition to individuals and families. Whether treatment is provided at our agency or others we are dedicated to making a difference in people's lives.

Please spend some time exploring our site. Feel free to make suggestions or ask for more information. The site is a work in progress. We want it to be a helpful resource and welcome feedback.

Warmest regards,
Executive Director Randy Bleiwas, LCSW, MA, CASAC, CBIS, CHt
